"Morning at Malvern Preview Days"

Morning at Malvern Preview Day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a two-hour program including classroom visits, a tour of campus, a question and answer session and serves as a “preview” of a typical school day. The program begins in Stewart Hall. All prospective candidates should attend at least one Morning at Malvern Preview Day. (One parent must accompany the visiting student.) This is a student’s primary visiting day. To make a reservation for a Morning at Malvern Preview Day, please contact Andrea Barrar at abarrar.malvernprep.org or call 484-595-1149.

Entrance Exams
Malvern holds its own entrance exams four times this academic year: October, November, December and February. Most 6th, 7th and 9th grade candidates take the October exam, which is required if a student wishes to be considered in the first round of early acceptance in December and January. For the exam that is given the day of Open House (Sunday,October 17), students and their parents should report to the O’Neill Center. For all other tests, students report to Carney Hall. It is to the student’s advantage to take the exam as early as possible the year before he wants to enroll. Parents can enjoy the School’s Open House while the students take the exam. Both October tests are considered “academic scholarship exams” for students testing for 6th and 9th grades. All students in those grades who take the exam are considered for an academic scholarship if they complete the application process and provide all of the paperwork required before Thanksgiving. Upon request, Malvern will honor any necessary student accommodations for the exam based upon current and appropriate educational reports of the applicant.
These reports must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the testing date. Register online for one of our entrance exams or call Maureen Malarkey at 484-595-5770. Malvern Prep will also accept the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) or the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) for entrance. However, to be considered for scholarship, the applicant must take our entrance exam in October. Please click here for more information about these testing dates.
Student Visits During the School Day
High School Visits
A full-day visit is not a mandatory part of the process for ninth grade admissions. In most cases, the visit will be requested by our Admissions Office. Due to the large number of applicants and interested students for ninth grade, we are not capable of accommodating
every interested student to visit for a full day. Our Morning at Malvern Preview Day/Visitation program has been expanded to provide the student with an inside look at the Malvern Experience.
Middle School Visits
A full-day visit is the final and required step in our middle school admissions process. We look to have students visit after they have completed their admissions file.
